Oven-Roasted Salmon Fillets

Salmon is one of the most popular and versatile fish you can cook at home. It’s rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and vitamin D, and it tastes delicious with a variety of seasonings and sauces. One of the easiest and most foolproof ways to prepare salmon is to roast it in the oven. Here’s how to make oven-roasted salmon fillets that are moist, flaky, and full of flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each), skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: fresh herbs, lemon slices, garlic, honey, mustard, or any other seasonings you like

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add any optional seasonings on top of the fillets as desired.
  3. Roast for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The exact cooking time will depend on the thickness of the fillets and your preferred doneness. You can check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should read at least 145°F at the thickest part of the fish.
  4. Enjoy your oven-roasted salmon fillets with your favorite side dishes, such as rice, salad, roasted vegetables, or bread.
