Cardiovascular Exercise Guidelines

Cardiovascular exercise is an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends that adults engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity per week. Additionally, the AHA recommends that adults perform muscle-strengthening activities at least two days per week.

Moderate-intensity aerobic activity includes activities such as brisk walking, cycling, and swimming. Vigorous-intensity aerobic activity includes activities such as running, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and vigorous cycling.
