Drugs that Can Raise Blood Pressure
Certain medications can raise blood pressure in some people. These include:
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) – including ibuprofen and naproxen
- Decongestants – including pseudoephedrine and phenylephrine
- Antidepressants – including venlafaxine and bupropion
- Steroids – including prednisone and cortisone
- Immunosuppressant drugs – including cyclosporine and tacrolimus
- Some herbal supplements – including ephedra, ginseng, and licorice root.
